Am I the only one that sometimes finds myself awake when I needed to be asleep hours ago? I don’t usually have a problem getting into REM sleep, but some nights it's hard to stop my mind from going a million miles an hour. It can be challenging to turn our brains off sometimes and get into a more relaxing, calm mood with a less active mind. When I'm panicking, and it's past my bedtime, I start calculating how many hours of sleep ill be getting, and as the minutes pass, I realize how little sleep ill actually get. A friend of mine let me in on a secret to help me get some rest and fall asleep, and I'm here to share it with you.
She explained how the power of scents can really help us fall asleep and how burning certain aromas can relax the mind and body. For anyone hoping to unwind, aromatherapy is a great option to promote relaxation and a good night's sleep.
As I'd like to call them, the magic scents that help relax me the most are lavender, jasmine, sandalwood, and bergamot, just to name a few. Lavender is shown to reduce stress levels and increase sleep quality. It may very well be one of the best aromas for reducing anxiety. Jasmine is used both as an antidepressant and an aphrodisiac in aromatherapy. My other favorite scent, bergamot, is used to improve moods, reduce stress, and help people fall asleep. Try giving aromatherapy a try when you need help drifting into a deep sleep. With a variety of options, you can see which scents work best for you.
I've started lighting my Lavender Apricot Soy Candle nightly when it's time to start winding down. This soy candle whisks me away to fields of lavender, and my mind calms. It carries a base of sweet seduction that captures the soul with warming scents of rich sandalwood and cozy cedar. It genuinely feels like magic, the way my mind and body become so tranquil. Soy candles are the perfect way to take in these aromas and help turn your brain off when it's time. Another trick to relaxing the mind is a room or linen spray. A few sprays of the Lavender Lullaby Room & Linen Spray is another great way to inhale the calming aroma of lavender with its delicate scents of lovely lilac. Linen sprays are safe for linens, towels, and bedding and are another option for taking in pleasing scents. Crawl into bed and surround yourself with the cozy scents of lavender. A few other nighttime favorites are the Moonlight Soy Candle with blends of bergamot and violet and the Honeysuckle & Jasmine Soy Candle, which also has a matching linen and room spray when I like to switch things up.
Everyone is different and has a preference of which aromas they find to be the most relaxing. If you’re like me and have trouble winding down some nights, give aromatherapy a chance and see how burning certain scented soy candles or misting a linen spray can help you fall asleep quicker.
